The wrestlers qualifed 8 for state and placed 3 wrestlers in the top 4 positions.  Perry continued their impressive string of 7 championships in a row.  Casia Hall was second followed by Pawhuska and the Bucs fnished 4th by only 4 points.  With the exception of one all wrestlers won at least one match at the tournament.  The team will only lose two wrestlers but they are extremely productive wrestlers.  Seniors Kramer Simpson and Jose Martinez will be truly missed next year.  Jose started wrestling in the 8th grade.  He qualifed for state this year and last year he was only a match away from qualifying.  He lead by example by always working hard and never missing practice.  Kramer had a tough wrestling career.  His freshman year he was injured after only 12 matches, his sophomore he was 20-0 and got injured again.  His junior year he was injured but managed to work through the pain and fnish 3rd at state.  This year he was 26-3 and a State Runner-up at 152lbs.  Kramer is an outstanding athlete and is a tremendous leader on and off the mat and goes beyond what is required of him.  He spent many evenings in the weight room to put himself in a position to win.  We are very fortunate to have Kramer and Jose around to point the younger kids in the right direction in the right direction by working hard and making good decisions.

Josh Ailey is a freshman and placed 3rd at 103lbs.  Josh lost a heartbreaker in his frst match by the score of 4-6.  He pinned his next opponent in 4.34.  Next he had to beat a wrestler he had beaten twice before to get a medal.  He fell behind early but came back to win 6-4.  Now he had to beat the guy that beat him in the frst round for 3rd place.  Typical Josh fell behind again but he would not be denied.  He came on to win by a fall.  What a great year for Josh!

Kramer placed 2nd at 152lbs.  His frst match was a doosy.  With only 35 seconds remaining he was behind 3-2.  So with 30 seconds remaining Kramer takes his guy down and they go out of bounds.  It is a huge task to ride anyone at the state tournament especially for 30 seconds.  He was up to the task and rode the guy out for the win.  The next match was relatively easy he got the fall in the frst period.  He lost a good match in the fnals to fnish 2nd.

State Qualifers: Josh Ailey, Hunter Martin, Reece Simpson, Tyran Brown, Jose Martinez, Kramer Simpson, Jake Love , Edwin Gallardo
