The Tonkawa wrestling team traveled to Newkirk last weekend for the Newkirk dual tournament. And despite injuries to the team such as Franklin Koch and Jose Martinez the Team had a great weekend and finished 2nd overall losing only one time to Newkirk.
The Bucs versed Newkirk the first dual and lost by a mere 3 points. Which might have been different but Jose Martinez was injured in the 2nd period of his match and was unable to compete the rest of the day. But after that it was all the Bucs, they won their next two duals big and managed to pull off a close win in their final dual.
Coach Martin said “We had a good weekend but there’s always room for improvement”.
The Bucs had a very successful weekend and hopefully will continue to do just as good throughout the rest of the season.
