With their first district championship under their belts in years, Tonkawa's Lady Buc softball team heads into Class 2A regional action Wednesday at Drumright.
"It's the most open regional we could have been sent to," Head Coach Mark Huster said, "We're glad to be in it."
Commerce is 22-9 on the year. Drumright is 24-8, Newkirk 16-13 andTonkawa 16-8.
"It's pretty evently matched," Huster said, "No one team is way better. If we play good and don't swing at bad pitches, then we'll be in pretty good shape. And we've been doing exactly that lately."
Entering the regional, Tonkawa is coming off a district championship over Pawnee.
It's their first in at least five years.
